Summer Staff 2010/2011
Totara Springs are now looking for people to help us during our summer camps, these include Family Camps, Kids Camp, Teens Camp & Sports camp.
Both paid and volunteer positions are available.
Successful people will need to be ready to work from Dec 27th – Feb 2nd 2011, however there may be extra work outside of this time frame.

Pathways Intern 2011
Totara Springs are seeking camping interns for 2011. You will learn about Christian Camping at Totara Springs, and deepen your knowledge of God and the Bible. The course runs from early February until mid December.Successful interns will have a Diploma in Christian Ministry through Pathways Bible and Mission College. Check out Pathways at www.pathways.ac.nz. Fees are around $3500 (2010) for the year and Totara Springs will give you accommodation and meals.

I had been volunteering at Totara Springs for a number of years prior to becoming an intern here. I love Christian Camping and all that it involves! Becoming an intern at Totara has opened my eyes to the ‘behind the scenes’ of all the camps we have here and I realised that as a volunteer I was missing out! I have been able to get stuck in and help out all over camp and it’s exciting to know that the work you do is able to impact others for years to come. I am able to do what I love and learn heaps of new skills that I can take with me anywhere I go.
Doing an internship through Pathways Bible and Mission College has opened my eyes to a whole new side of Christianity and learn just that much more about what God is about. Charley and I come away from block course buzzing with all the cool new things that we have learnt and Totara Springs knows all about it! Pathways has presented me with spiritual and practical challenges that I am able to apply to my life right here and right now. And right until I get super old.
It’s heaps of fun, you learn stuff you want to learn and you have an incredible support network around you.

I have really enjoyed the 2010 internship at Totara Springs! It has been absolutely incredible and has encouraged me in my own Christian walk as I have gained further knowledge about God and his incredible Word and learnt to apply it not only in my ministry but in my day to day life. Having grown up in Christian Camping in Australia and having previously worked in a camp the camping culture and lifestyle wasn’t a new one for me. But coming to Totara Springs has been awesome! I have learnt so much and grown so much in my time here! I love being able to put all of my energy and enthusiasm into ministry and I totally enjoy coming home at the end of each day knowing that all of the work that I had done that day was helping kids come to know Christ Jesus! J When you are actively serving God in ministry there is never a dull moment! – It is an incredible journey and something that I never want to miss out on!
Pathways has been incredible and one of the highlights of my year! I have totally enjoyed having such an awesome and unique opportunity to go and learn about our incredible God and study the Bible. I have just learnt so much this year as we have looked at Galatians, ways to Interpret the Bible, Christian Leadership, Theology of Christian Beliefs and Old Testament Themes, just to name a few. I have enjoyed learning about the incredible plan that God has had since the beginning of time and my mind has been completely blown as we have ventured into some tough discussions in class about issues in our world today. Block courses are awesome and always leave me and Katie buzzing! I think probably the best part about the combined Pathways/Totara Springs Internship is that you not only gain information and knowledge of the bible in your studies, but in each thing you learn you are encouraged to look at a practical way to apply this to you ministry and your own life – an awesome and unique learning experience!
If you are a young leader and are totally on fire for God and wanting to actively serve Him each and every day I would encourage you to get on board the 2011 Pathways/Totara Springs Internship – Let yourself be challenged, grown and moulded into the young leader that Christ has called you to be as you take out a year of your life for God!
